The Day before the procedure drink only
clear liquids. This can include water, coffee, tea, apple juice(or other juices
without pulp), sports drinks, broths, popsicles, and jell-o). Sports drinks are
an excellent source of electrolyte repletion and should be considered an excellent
choice for clear liquids in preparation.

In the evening hours around 6-7 PM take
the first bottle of phos-pho soda. You can mix the phos-pho soda in clear liquids.
It may be easier to consume if mixed in 2-3 glasses of clear liquids.

After taking the phos-pho soda continue
to drink clear liquids. The more clear liquids that are consumed the less likely
you are to become dehydrated.

Take the second bottle of phos-pho soda
at 6 AM or at least 3 hours before your procedure mixed with one glass of clear
liquids. You may follow this with one more glass of clear liquids.

An alternative for early morning procedures
is to take one phos-pho soda around noon the day prior to the procedure and the
second phos-pho soda at 7-8 PM.

If the preparation works properly green
to yellow clear fluid should all that is being passed when you go to the bathroom
at the end of the preparation.

This preparation is not appropriate
if you have kidney disease, congestive heart failure, or multiple medical problems.
If you are unsure about whether the preparation is appropriate for you please consult
your doctor and he may suggest a different preparation.
